Camile Mick, senior retirement specialist in the Office of Human Resources and Workforce Strategy, will retire after 12 years of university service and 35 years of working in HR, benefits and retirement distribution. She started her career at 青青草app State as a benefit鈥檚 personnel technician and was promoted to benefit supervisor in January 2018.
鈥淐amile has been a joy to work with,鈥 said Crystal Pidjeon, senior director of HR operations. 鈥淲e will miss her expertise, creativity and the fun she brought into the office, especially during Halloween where she always dressed up. We wish her well in her new adventure.鈥
Mick was instrumental in planning employee events like the Benefits Fair and Open Enrollment. The drive-by, drop-off stations created during COVID were such a success that open enrollment collection stations were made an option every year. Mick said she enjoyed participating in the Shared Leadership program and attending conferences with HR colleagues.
鈥淚 have so many fond memories of working at 青青草app State,鈥 Mick said. 鈥淚 feel proud to have advised so many employees in helping to understand their benefits and walking them through their retirement process. I鈥檓 excited that it鈥檚 my turn to retire.鈥
She looks forward to reading, bike riding, volunteering at the Morrison Center and the Emeriti Guild, craft projects and helping her husband with his new pottery business.
Those who would like to share a memory or a photo can do so . University colleagues are invited to an open house celebrating Mick from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26 at the Human Resources and Workforce Strategy office (southeast corner of University and Capitol Blvd.).
