SPPH Certificates

The School of Public and Population Health (SPPH) offers multiple certificates for undergraduate students. Explore the following options and be sure to meet with an advisor to discuss incorporating a certificate(s) into your academic plan.

Each certificate is only 15 credits and many of the certificates already incorporate course requirements from SPPH undergraduate programs.

Disaster Preparedness and Response Certificate

Disasters are an important public health issue. During and following a disaster, public health professionals, first responders, and community officials work together to minimize death and injuries, prevent disease outbreaks and illnesses, and ensure safe housing and facilities for individuals and families. Public health has become increasingly focused on disaster preparedness, to prevent potential impacts on health care related facilities and services.

Learn more about disaster preparedness and response, how to manage potential risks, how to track and follow-up on trends and outbreaks and how to communicate effectively during an emergency situation with this certificate.
