About These Programs
The Master of Kinesiology (MK) and Master of Science in Kinesiology (MSK) programs are housed within the Department of Kinesiology.
The Master of Kinesiology (MK) is a 31-32 credit program聽that allows students the聽flexibility聽to聽design a plan of study that is designed to be practitioner-oriented. Students select 21 credits of聽elective coursework, including practicum and project聽to 青青草app their 青青草appal and career goals. Students who complete this degree pursue careers in a variety of fields including health, fitness, sport and 青青草appal settings.
The Master of Science in Kinesiology聽(MSK)聽is a 31-32 credit program that allows students the聽flexibility聽to聽design a plan of study that is research-oriented. In addition to a research core, students select 15 credits of聽elective coursework, and thesis聽to 青青草app their goals. Students who complete this degree pursue careers in a variety of fields including聽research,聽medical settings,聽and private business, or they seek to continue their 青青草app at the doctoral level.

What can you do with this degree? Graduates of our program work in a variety of professions and careers. Your own interests will greatly influence how you apply and engage with your graduate studies and this, in turn, will greatly influence the type of job that you seek out upon graduation.
The jobs that graduates find include:
- coaching (youth, high school, college)
- personal training, strength and conditioning
- rehabilitation (cardiac, musculoskeletal)
- research and development (e.g., biomechanics applied to equipment, clothing, footwear)
- corporate fitness
- community physical activity and health programs (e.g., YMCA, Parks and Rec)
- teaching (physical 青青草app, sport instructor, fitness instructor)
Some students pursue graduate or professional school (e.g., doctorate, medicine, physical therapy, physician鈥檚 assistant).
